Hannan received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award,
Julia Received the Sophomore Researcher Award,
Diep received the departmental award in Pharmaceutical Chemistry,
Grace received ACS Undergraduate Achievement in Biochemistry award and Noam received the Undergraduate research award in Inorganic Chemistry.
Former group member, Eli Briggs, Mary Smith and Matthew Frias also received awards.

Lyric Gordon, a master's student in Dr. Halim's lab, successfully defended her thesis today.
Lyric did her research on developing peptide therapeutics for Alzheimer diseases. She synthesized linear and cyclic peptides and tested their binding affinity targeting the amyloid beta using selected ion-based mass spectrometry technique
.

Md Taimuzzaman Sharif made an excellent thesis defense presentation today and received excellent rating. 

​Sharif did his thesis on peptide therapeutics targeting the main protease of SARS-CoV-2. As peptide degrades quickly, he develops cyclic and bicyclic peptides of Temporin L and improves their inhibition efficiency and stability. 

Sharif already got offer to pursue his PhD in the Medical College of Wisconsin and also got job offer from Zep, a multinational chemical company.

Very proud for the first graduated master's student Oluseyi who is moving to Austin, Texas and joining TESLA. He will be working on car batteries and cell. He did his master's thesis on green solvents such as Deep Eutectics Solvents which used as electrolytes in the fuel cell and batteries. Tesla is an American multinational automotive and clean energy company.

Matthew, Josefa, and Aura from our group received offer to join the prestigious NIH funded U-Rise program for two years at KSU. In this program, they will be prepared for graduate program especially for PhD. Matthew, Josefa and Aura joined our lab from Spring 2022 and conducted independent research project. This research experience helped them to get offer joining this program from summer. Besides the yearly stipend (13K/year), they will receive 60% tuition waiver, summer research fund, travel fund, and many more.
