In the last two years at KSU, I have mentored a record number of students including 60 undergraduate and 5 graduate students. Out of 60 undergraduate students, 22 are freshman (36.6%), 14 are sophomore, 16 are junior and 8 are senior. Among these students, 44% are majoring in chemistry/biochemistry, 44% in biology, 8.3% in psychology and 2.7% others. In terms of diversity, 35% students worked in my lab are White, 31.6% Asian, 21.6% Black, 11.6% Latino and 60% Women.
In last two years, my team combinedly made 66 presentations in KSU students symposium, 12th Annual Southeast Enzyme Conference in Atlanta, American Chemical Society Southeast Regional Meeting (SERMACS), local ACS Chapters and Mass spectrometry conferences.
To train our next generation scientist, we need huge funding and supports. Your little help can make a huge impact on our student career. You can donate to our research team using the following link 'Give to the College of Science and Mathemetics.'
